Artist Statement
My work explores the screen as a site where ideology confronts aesthetics and new worlds are speculated. I'm interested in the expanded notion of operating systems —the dominant engineering undergirding social units— and their cross-cultural adoption. In my practice, I seek to locate interstices in which these systems reveal themselves vulnerable and contradictory in order to stage critical interventions that later exist within the realm of the screen. My recent work focuses on the political, social, biological and psychological effects of late-stage capitalism and aggressive globalization and questions the different levels of participation in which the individual operates under these conditions, resulting in video-performances, post-digital objects and screen-based installations.
