Artist Statement
In my work, I use walking as an aesthetic practice that allows me to explore the body and its ephemeral nature, to study the relationship between space and time, presence and absence, public and private in order to rebuild memory. My performances take shape through sound recordings, like participants’ narrations; texts like a notebook containing a record of environmental sounds or drawings made by viewers. For Art Matters I intend to travel to Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Cuba and Puerto Rico in order to investigate and document, through a series of walks, the social and political environment around artistic actions performed during the Sixties and Seventies.
