In 1989, Art Matters Co-Founder Philip Yenawine served as Director of Education at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and was a member of the arts organization Visual Aids. He played a vital role organizing the first Day Without Art, an international day of action and mourning in response to the AIDS crisis.
On the occasion of its 30th Anniversary, Yenawine reflects on the first Day Without Art with MoMA's Sara Torres and through Visual AIDS Artist Registry.
